#4 Learning About People - Interviewing Techniques
Tuesday, November 10,
2009 1 PM EST 90 minutes $139
Presenters: Melissa
Marlatt & Cathy Yadamec
Whether using CQL’s Personal Outcome Measures® or other
types of measures, using the right interview technique is crucial. In this workshop you will learn to ask the
right questions to gather information.
You will build your skills to discover people’s personal definitions of
quality of life. An important part of
interviewing is active listening and this will be discussed in depth. You will
also learn how to gather information about the person from other sources such
as family, friends, and staff who know the person well. Finally, this workshop
will help you understand what kinds of questions to ask to uncover what people
think are the most effective ways to provide support, from their own
perspective.

#5 Decision Making around Personal Outcome Measures®
Tuesday, December 15, 2009 1 PM EST 90 minutes $139
Presenters: Melissa
Marlatt & Cathy Yadamec
Gathering information is only the first step. It is important to be clear about how you
will be using the information in making decisions about personal outcomes. This
workshop will provide you with the opportunity to learn, using real examples,
to make decisions about the presence or absence of outcomes and supports, using
the information gathered from the person and people who know the person well.

#6 Using the Personal Outcomes Measures® as a Tool for Planning
with People
Tuesday, January 12, 2010 1 PM EST 90 minutes $139
Presenter: Albert Van Kleeck
This workshop will take you to the next level in using the
Personal Outcome Measures® for the people your organization serves. Once you have the data about the things that
are present (or not) in people’s lives, and you know what is most important,
what do you do with the qualitative information? The next step is to identify what supports
are necessary to make sure outcomes that are present are maintained, and for
outcomes that are not present, you can use this information to plan how to get
the outcomes people wants. It is
simple. You base your planning on …
“what I have and what I want.”

#7 Using Personal Outcome Measures® as a Tool for Planning with
Organizations
Tuesday, January 26, 2010 1 PM EST 90 Minutes $139
Panel Moderator: Tammi Odom
Now that you understand how to use the Personal Outcomes
Measures®, you can now apply this knowledge to how your organization looks at
itself and what outcomes may be missing in how you provide services. When your organization uses Personal Outcomes
Measures® for planning, you have the information to set attainable goals. A panel of representatives from organizations
will share how they have used the Personal Outcomes Measures® and what they have learned from this process.

#8 Using Personal Outcome Measures® for Community Supports
Tuesday, February 9, 2010 1 PM EST 90 Minutes $139
Presenters: Anne Buechner & Beth Mathis
Join us as we introduce a new way of using the Personal
Outcome Measures. In this workshop you
will learn how to collect data to measure natural and community support. We will begin to look at the role natural
and community support can play in a person’s quality of life as we move away
from organization support to a more fulfilling life in the community.
