CQL President and CEO, James Gardner, contributed an article
“Personal Quality of Life … What Really
Matters” to the July issue of Autism Advocate. The focus of this issue
is “Live Well” and includes navigating options for adults with autism that
ensures they live lives of health and well-being.
Gardner’s article describes the value of a person-centered approach to quality and how
families and advocates can challenge the service system to improve the relevance and
effectiveness of autism supports and services. A focus on person-centered
services increases individual choice, control and the achievement of personal
quality of life.
The Autism Society’s flagship
publication, the Autism

caregiving, etc.), Autism Society news, personal perspectives of families and
individuals living with autism, and tips from parents and professionals.
