The Situation

Quality Trust is an independent, nonprofit advocacy organization created to advance the individual and collective interests of people with developmental disabilities and intellectual disabilities in the District of Columbia. The activities of Quality Trust include monitoring the adequacy of services available including ensuring health, safety and welfare issues are addressed, providing lay advocacy services and ensuring access to legal representation.

Quality Trust was looking for a common platform for defining, measuring and improving quality for people.

What CQL Did

CQL provided on-site training for Quality Trust staff in the Personal Outcome Measures SM through the Assessment workshops. Quality Trust staff were the first to complete the Certified Quality Analyst program in 2005-2006.

“The certification process has been a wonderful learning experience that has enabled us to understand the importance of data collection and analysis, and how it directs us to problem solving for the individuals we support. CQL staff has been a fantastic support in our learning and I know that I will always be able to rely on their support as we apply our new skills!”
