Collaborative of the Finger Lakes
The Situation
The Collaborative of the Finger Lakes, Inc. is a regional association of nine not-for-profit NYSARC, Inc. human service agencies serving over 6,000 individuals challenged with developmental disabilities, and their families in 10 upstate New York counties. Collaborative agencies provide services in residential day treatment programs, family support, pre-school education, service coordination, and job training and placement. Collaborative agencies associate to enhance individual and collective effectiveness.
Members of the Collaborative conducted an evaluation of various quality improvement and metric systems for people with disabilities. Arc leaders were searching for person-directed systems that would improve quality of life and also meet the measurement system requirements for the Empire State Advantage Award program.
What CQL Did
CQL met with the leadership from the Finger Lakes Collaborative on several occasions in Rochester, New York. CQL provided training and technical assistance to organizational staff from the region and more in-depth training to several organizations that decided to pursue CQL Accreditation with the Personal Outcome Measures® metric system.
