Lutheran Social Services
The Situation
Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) traces its roots back to 1865, and has been supporting people with developmental disabilities since 1954. Currently, LSS Personal Support Services for People with Disabilities provides services to more than 650 individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the state. Today, LSS is the largest, statewide non-profit social service agency in Minnesota. It is owned by the six Minnesota synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
When LSS Personal Support Services for People with Disabilities made the decision to pursue national accreditation, they chose CQL based on their belief that philosophically CQL was the best fit with the organization.
What CQL Did
CQL worked with LSS Personal Support Services for People with Disabilities over a number of years, providing training, consultation and certification services. Accreditation was the long term goal.
LSS became one of the first ten organizations in the country to receive four year CQL Accreditation with Quality Measures 2005 ®.
