The Irish Outcomes Network
The Situation
As news of CQL’s Personal Outcome Measures® traveled across the Atlantic to Ireland in the late 1990’s, leaders from across the country approached CQL to learn more about the measures, quality enhancement and best practice. Seeing the benefits of greater collaboration and sharing of resources, these leaders decided to form the National Irish Outcomes group.
What CQL Did
For over a decade, CQL has been closely involved with the group and with individual provider organizations in Ireland – building greater capacity for the achievement of personal outcomes for people, as well as promoting organizational excellence.
Annually, CQL co-sponsors a national conference in Ireland to share out newest information. Leaders from Ireland regularly participate in CQL workshops in the U.S. Trainer Certification in Ireland has been an important tool for supporting the spread of person-centered quality.
CQL currently accredits these Irish providers:
- Breannan Services, Traleee, County Kerry
- St. Michael’s House, Dublin
- STEP Enterprises, Dublin
- Sunbeam House Services, Bray, County Wicklow
- Western Care Association, Castlebar, County Mayo
“We use the Personal Outcomes Measures to learn how to be person-centered and to measure our efforts. In doing so, we learn about our strengths and challenges in supporting people.”
