Georgia Department of Human Resources Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Addictive Diseases (MHDDAD)
The Situation
In 2001, Georgia’s Department of Human Resources issued a request for proposals to assist the agency in providing statewide quality and compliance training. The training was to be designed and delivered to staff of agencies and companies providing services, monitoring or coordination under the state’s Home and Community Based Waiver Programs.
CQL was the successful recipient of the two-year contract.
What CQL Did
CQL staff developed the training curricula and modules as requested by the Department. The modules addressed six distinct areas of service delivery. They combined best practice principles with Georgia specific information. Topics included:
- Record Keeping 101
- Clinical/Program Records Management
- MR/DD Assessment and Planning
- Discharge Planning
- Client Rights Protection
- Organizational Quality Improvement/Internal Utilization Management
Sessions were held across the 13 regions in the state.
CQL also designed a Service Coordination Certification program for the state, grounded in the Personal Outcome MeasuresSM, including a four-part self-assessment process.
We completed a Train the Trainer project with Georgia in the year following the initial project.
