Developmental Disabilities Training Institute (DDTI)

In July, 2006 CQL and the Developmental Disabilities Training Institute (DDTI) of the Jordan Institute for Families in the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, entered into a unique and groundbreaking agreement for training in North Carolina.

DDTI is well positioned to offer training of CQL’s personal outcome and support measures, having been instrumental in promoting values and strengths-based approaches to planning and supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in North Carolina for the past four decades. DDTI has a longstanding relationship with CQL, and maintains a demonstrated level of excellence in conducting training using the personal outcome measures. DDTI, in conjunction with CQL, has maintained certified trainers using this model for over ten years.

Through this agreement CQL grants DDTI a license to provide training of CQL’s Personal Outcome Measures®. DDTI offers the following training models:
Personal Outcomes Overview Training (1 day workshop)
In-depth training (3 and 4 day workshops) on Personal Outcomes and Supports

"The mission of the Developmental Disabilities Training Institute (DDTI) is to foster improvements in services and supports to persons with developmental disabilities (and those with a dual diagnosis of a developmental disability and a mental health issue) through developing the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of staff and others involved in their lives. The Personal Outcome Measures® provide an excellent vehicle toward implementing our mission and we are very pleased to have established an agreement with CQL to increase the local capacity for conducting overviews and in-depth training of the Personal Outcome Measures® in NC."

Julia Wolfson

Julia Wolfson of Melbourne, Australia is an international trainer and consultant. In 2008, Julia completed certification as a Personal Outcome Measures® trainer. Her agreement with CQL authorizes her to provide the Assessment workshop in Europe, South Africa, and Australia.

“There are many systems out there for measuring quality. CQL is the finest framework I have come across for measuring quality outcomes from the person's point of view first, using a positive approaches value base.

This is particularly relevant in my work in organisations with diffuse power structures as it offers leaders a functional process for holding to a person-directed compass in all organisational arrangements, targets and reforms.”

Julia Wolfson, International consultant, Founder and Principal of 'Turning Forward'
